A group of mercanaries and bandits, The Iron Circle rose to prominance in the fall of Old Nerath as the Southern Kingdoms fell into anarchy. In the years that followed, The Iron Circle became a structured and legitimate empire, seizing the entire southern continent of Old Nerath and incorperating the many goblin, orc, giant and bandit tribes of the south into their armies. These days, you don't know much about their plans, however, since you killed a leader of the Circle and decimated his army, you can be sure that you aren't friends.
Captain Treylak vowed vengeance after you killed his Grey Render, and he seems to also blame you for the death of his lover, the Seargent. Calamis has a special interest in hunting Captain Treylak, and Treylak specifically vowed vengeance against Gale, who used the Seargent's amulet to hear Treylak's voice. The Grey Comapany use to be a force for good as the elite army of Old Nerath. They hadn't been seen in the Vale for centuries, since the fall of Old Nerath. Upon their return, they interdicted Harken, imposed Martial Law, locked up the Triumvirate and threatened to kill you all. Maybe they use to be good and use to represent Old Nerath, but these days, they are more like a fundamental cult.
You know very little about the Gravelstokes, since you didn't bother researching them. All you know is that they were the hooded figures seen running through Harken the night the Barron died.
For someone who has caused so many problems for you, you know very little about him. Slaark began his aggression towards you at the end of your first mission when you defiled the bones of his ancenstors and attacked goblins seeking shelter, violating the Natural Compact- during magical events, sheltered must be guaranteed to all creatures intelligent enough to seek it. In retalliation, Slaark attacked Hightower while you were away and destroyed it, killing The Guardian and dooming his spirit to capture by the Hammerfastian Monolith. You restored Hightower and brought The Guardian back, and decided to strike against Slaark by forcibly converting his right-hand man and Illusionist. Recently, it appears Slaark may be building power by destroying villages in the Vale's countryside.
The leader of the Order of the Radiant Lion and a massively niice guy, Setzer was a beacon of goodness stemming the tide of darkness from swallowing Harken... and now he's dead. Oh, and you haven't bothered finding out why and how.
